Inheritance is what you give. Legacy is what you leave.
Being a mom is such a blessing to me, but it also is a huge responsibility! I want to leave a legacy of true leadership. One that walks in love, who is fearless in building others up because they are confident enough in themselves, but are also full of humility. There is a kindness, a joy, a beauty in that. There is a “weightyness” these characteristics hold. You don’t have to emulate it, act it out, talk it… You only have to be who God created you to be. That is where their freedom is found! That is true leadership.
Walk in love. Love ALWAYS wins. It is beautiful and strong. It is an action, a choice, state of mind that brings peace. It cannot be overcome.
1 Corinthians 13:4-8a – Love is patient, love is kind and is not jealous. Love does not brag and is not arrogant, does not act unbecomingly. It does not seek its own, is not provoked, does not take into account a wrong suffered. (keep a record of wrongs) It does not rejoice in unrighteousness, but rejoices with the truth. It bears all things, believes all things, hopes all things, endures all things. Love never fails…
Celebrate and build others up. Be fearless. Be an encourager, not a rival. Nothing exudes strength and confidence more than building someone else up. It’s not an act. It’s a joy and kindness that comes from within.
Philippians 2:3 – Do nothing from selfishness (rivalry) or empty conceit, but with humility of mind, regard one another as more important than yourselves.
Be who God has created you to be. Don’t compare yourself to others. Comparison is the biggest stealer of joy. It gives opportunity for jealousy, insecurity and every lie the enemy wants to plant inside of you to keep you from your full potential. Freedom is inside of you. Freedom is who you really are and not who you pretend to be. You are most beautiful and free when you are authentic and genuine.
James 3:16-17 – For where jealousy and selfish ambition (rivalry) exist, there is disorder and every evil thing. But the wisdom from above is first pure, then peaceable, gentle, reasonable, full of mercy and good fruits, unwavering, without hypocrisy.
